FUNDING OPTIONS FOR PARENTS

  • Children aged 3 and 4 qualify for EYEE funding from the term following their 3rd birthday. This allows children to access up to 15 hours a week of free childcare.

The funding can be accessed as follows:

    • Autumn term – age 3 by 31st August
    • Spring term – age 3 by 31st December
    • Summer term – age 3 by 31st March

We will advise you when your child is due to become eligible in the term before their 3rd birthday. We apply for the funding on your behalf by asking you to sign a funding form each term and return it to us. We also ask for a copy of your child’s Birth Certificate or Passport when registering to ensure that we have carried out our identity checks correctly.

Working Parents of eligible 3- and 4-year-olds can apply for ’30 hours funded childcare’. This allows children to access up to 30 hours a week of free childcare (this equates to about 22 hours per week and is available to be accessed year-round) this means up to 1140 hours of free childcare a year.

The funding can be accessed by applying through the HMRC website ‘www.childcarechoices.gov.uk’ where parents are given an eligibility code if successful which you must then provide to us to be verified.

If the family are a non-UK citizen who cannot claim benefits

If their immigration status says they have ‘no recourse to public funds’, they may still get free childcare for your 2-year-old. They must live in England and their household income must be no more than:

    • £26,500 for families outside of London with one child
    • £34,500 for families within London with one child
    • £30,600 for families outside of London with two or more children
    • £38,600 for families within London with two or more children

They cannot have more than £16,000 in savings or investments

Working Parents Entitlement for 2 year olds (new funding)

Starting on 2 January, if you are an eligible working parent, you can apply for 15 hours of childcare for your 2-year-old.

You must apply for the summer term before 31 March. The best time to apply is mid-January to the end of February, just in case you need to provide extra information to help your application.

If you apply more than 3 months before the start of the new term, you will need to reconfirm your details before the end of the month before the start of the new term. This is to ensure you are still eligible.
